Vegetable Tanned Leather
Vegetable tanned leather is so called because the raw materials used in the tanning process are primarily organic in nature. Vegetable tanned leather takes much more time and skill to produce than chrome-tanned leather, and this is reflected in the price. After suitable preparation, leathers are soaked in a natural tannin solution for up to 6 weeks, for stronger, more durable leather. Veg-tan leather is an excellent choice for many projects including saddles, tack, pouches and bags, or any project where quality and durability are important.
