Veg-Tanned

Vegetable-tanned, or bark-tanned leather takes much more time and skill to produce than chrome-tanned leather, and this is reflected in the price. After suitable preparation, leathers are soaked in a natural tannin solution for up to 6 weeks, for a stronger, more durable leather. Vegetable tanned leather is preferred for saddles, belts, pouches and any project that requires tooling or embossing.
